Policy Perspectives

Under the direction and management of Forte Designs, the California Healthcare Institute's Policy Perspective series was created.

A series of roundtable conversations on public policy issues affecting the future of the biomedical industry.

In 1997 and beyond the market for new medical innovations will be defined by state and federal policy -- intellectual property protection, securities law, the FDA approval process, Medicare and Medicaid payment policy, tax incentives, and scientific research funding. Actions taken today by legislators have never been more important to the future growth and prosperity of California's biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device industries.

Policy Perspective is a bi-partisan forum for key policy makers and biomedical industry leaders to come together on issues of common concern. The focused events promote open conversation on today's policies affecting California biomedical companies and offer networking opportunities to share ideas, exchange viewpoints and converse with peers.
