Founded in 1994, the LEND-A-HAND program has successfully placed high school students in part-time summer jobs at law offices, banking institutions, trade associations, design firms and other high quality businesses and corporations. LEND-A-HAND has a number of success stories - many students emerge with newly defined career and educational goals as a result of their experience; and employers gain hard working employees that contribute to the productivity of their businesses. The program not only builds the student's self-esteem, self-confidence, and a sense of pride and professionalism, but the participating business will reap the benefits of employing very capable minds.
An above minimum wage salary to the student is all that is required (we also suggest a monetary commitment of $200 professional clothing allowance per student). A participating employer will receive a student thirsty for knowledge and committed to showing up for work on time and completing daily work assignments. The employer will also receive the satisfaction of knowing they are making a difference in our society and contributing to the continuing education of our country's future job bank.
A few months of employment for these students can have a profound impact on their future life path. Join hands with us for this rewarding opportunity to help resolve some of the many social issues facing our youths.

"We developed the LEND-A-HAND program to fit the needs of our community by providing inner city high school students with economic and educational benefits while working in a professional environment. I am proud to see the legal and business communities embracing the program so eagerly." -John Carson, Past-President, Los Angeles County Bar Association "The LEND-A-HAND program provided us with an intern who is an intelligent self starter with a high degree of professionalism, even though this is her first work experience. It is nice to see that there are excited, talented, competent young people graduating from our high schools. Thank you, LEND-A-HAND program for this experience." -Linda Braunschweiger, Vice President, Political Affairs, California League of Savings Institutions "I plan to major in political science in the fall, and working at the Cal League has been a wonderful experience. I've learned a lot about how trade associations and political action committees work. I have also been researching various California election races for the November election. The people at Cal League have been so nice and helpful." -Kristin Haynes "The LEND-A-HAND program is an opportunity for all businesses, corporations and law firms to help inspire the youth of Los Angeles to strive, to achieve, and to hope for a better future." -Wanda K. Denson-Low, Staff Vice President, Asst. General Counsel, Corporate Patents & Licensing, Hughes Aircraft Co.
