After many years of working with decision-makers, presidents and owners of large and small enterprises, non-profit organizations and serving on several local and national boards, Ssusan observed an on-going dramatic shift in the lack of developing leadership skills for executives and their team leaders.
A common thread discovered in her data and intelligence research was that many organizations were impacted by the technological revolution, yet did not prepare their human capital for this historic shift in the work environment because of the challenges of time.
The practices of integrity, responsibility and accountability as a leader started to disappear when the technological revolution began to influence the core values of organizations to produce quicker, better, faster; to compete more globally, to grow in the new universal marketplace – leaving the creative talents and minds of the human capital behind.
Yet, after the crash of the Go-Go 90's, and the Dot Com Industry, many leaders began to look introspectively at the core values that built their companies and began to re-evaluate their assets. As many of these leaders went through this soul-searching process, they discovered that one of their greatest competitive assets is the talents of their human capital. They found that the foundation of an enterprise's longevity is not built on technology alone, but on the talents of their human capital. The success of a future leader will be viewed on how on how he/she implements and practices core ethical values while training the enterprises' human capital to continually grow creatively with new thoughts and ideas to be more productive and competitive in the growing global marketplace.
